Argentina

I have traveled to Argentina probably 10 times – aside from having lived there for the first 8 years of my life. But despite all my time spent there, I can’t find a way to describe my experience. It is very different than going to a country for the first time. I don’t get off the airplane and get filled with excitement to explore a new place, I get excited to spend two to three weeks with family.

I have never experienced Argentina as a tourist. So I think the best way to show you what Argentina – in this case Córdoba – looks like is through pictures.

Flying over the Andes Mountain Range which separates Argentina and Chile. When travelling over the Andes the flight attendants take precaution as to have your seats upright and store your tray tables. They take the same measures as when taking off and landing. In 1972 a plane crashed in the Andes resulting in 29 fatalities.

In the country area of Cordoba horseback riding is very popular. There are many options of tours, some which take days to complete. When I was younger my family and I did a day to night tour to see the full moon over the mountains.

Large families are very common in Argentina…. There are a lot of people missing in this picture.

The variety of food is amazing. The most popular things to eat when in Cordoba would be asado (barbecue) and empanadas.
