Long Weekend in New York City

Are you planning a trip to New York City for the weekend? Here are some tips to help you explore as much as possible in 4 days.

Central Park
Rent a bike and explore Central Park. It is such a massive location that a bike will make it the easiest. The only downside to the bikes is the path which tends to circulate the outskirts of the park.

The Met This museum is located in Central Park and you pay what you want to get in. Literally. So you can pay $1 or $100. And regardless of what you pay, it is WORHT IT.
We headed straight to the Egyptian section - always following our roots. This section is quite robust, but The Met is classified as the one of the world's largest art museums. While you are here don't forget to check out the rooftop patio that overlooks Central Park with a fascinating skyline of buildings. It is only open during the summer months, but worth going up there to enjoy a glass of wine and take some pictures.

9/11 Memorial A few years after the tragedy of 9/11, a monument was built where the two towers used to stand. These fountains are the size of the buildings in terms of width and contain the names of the victims that died that day. Even though this event shook the world, it's not alway easy to feel the impact something like this had until you are standing in the same place. Even if all you do is walk past the fountains, you have to go to the memorial. It doesn't just mark a moment in time, a tragedy, it also marks a moment when the world became one.

Brooklyn BridgeWalk the Brooklyn Bridge. It is crowded but worth it. The walk from one end to the other takes about 20 minutes, possibly longer depending how many times you stop to take pictures. I would recommend walking the bridge before the sun starts to set. The colours you'll be able to capture are stunning. When you make it to the other side take the opportunity to explore Brooklyn. Go to the rooftop bar at 1 Brooklyn Hotel for an amazing view of the bridge.

Walk in Different Towns: Little Italy, SOHOLittle Italy is bursting with life. Street performers, people walking, stands on the street, artisan markets, and so much more to experience. Walking around different parts of New York City is a great way to understand what the lifestyle is like there. Little Italy is one of those places where everyone is relaxed and fully enjoying the moment. On the other hand you have SOHO, the area known for high fashion. This area caters more to the retail consumers and occasionally you will find a whole warehouse setup with individual one of a kind stores. You never know what you'll run into.

Places to Eat:
Bryant Park Grill We wanted to checkout the iconic library in New York City, but we didn't check beforehand to see if it was open. So we ended up walking around since it was closed and eventually got hungry. We eat at the Bryant Park Grill restaurant which is right behind the library in the park area. The food was mouthwatering delicious. I would 100% go back here when I'm in the city again.
Ellen's Stardust Diner located near Time Square, I would describe this restaurant as the embodiment of broadway. The lineup is worth the experience. It is food with a show. All the wait staff at the restaurant sing. I can't even describe how amazing the staff is, it wouldn't do them justice. If I had had my way, we would of had breakfast and dinner here every day we were in New York City. The talent was spectacular.Have you been to New York City?
