How to Find Focus and Clarity in Your Business
When clients first come to me, their number one question is: “what do I focus on?!”
We have so many ideas and items on our to-do list that we get overwhelmed. We feel like if we focus on one thing it means we are neglecting the other. And if this idea doesn’t work, did I just waste my time?
I get it. I’ve been there. I had so many ideas for my business that I would get so overwhelmed to the point that I wouldn’t take action on any of them, fearful that I would f*** it up or waste my time on the wrong thing.
Before we dive into how to figure out what to put your focus on, know that YOU CAN’T MESS THIS UP!
The best way to know what item to your focus on first, is to figure out what your goals are. When you have clarity on what you are working towards (business and life), it makes it easier to filter through your ideas to find the ones that are going to help you reach these goals that much quicker.
Here is an example: You are a fitness coach with the idea to start an online shop. One of your ideas includes selling face creams and the other is to sell workout equipment like branded yoga mats and shirts. Your energy should be put towards the workout equipment because you already have a following and clientele that trusts your suggestions in this field. Once the trust and authority is built on your product suggestions, you can start to introduce other items like face creams.Ask yourself:
Which item on my idea list am I most excited about?
Is this idea going to get me closer to my goal? How?
How does this idea relate to my current business or what I do?
What gets to happen when I reach my goal?
How does this idea benefit or affect others?
These questions will help you feel into each idea. You want to be excited about the things you are working on, because the journey to success is not a straight line.
You got this! The worst mistake you can make is not move forward with your ideas.
